Getting There & Getting To

Getting There & Getting To

It’s been a while since I’ve reached out and I hope everyone had a great summer.

I’ve been diligently doing the Bring Sally Up pushups every day as promised. I also committed to doing a second BSU set each day once we reached $10,000 raised. Thanks to many of you, and in particular my friend Lou Nekola, we reached the $10,000 level last Spring so I’ve been doing two sets per day since then. At current pace, by November 17th  I’ll have completed 462 sets of pushups and, as predicted, I’m nursing a left elbow injury (thanks Lou).

The end date for the event is November 17th which is the 321st day of 2026. We are getting there. Thanks to so many of you we’ve raised $10,633.56.

Like all of us, I have days when I wake up and think of all the things I have to do. Through experience (aka – getting old), I’ve learned to view things as “I get to do them”. Instead of having to go for a run or walk, I get to go for a walk because I still can.

Similarly, we’ve all had to read some document or textbook we didn’t want to read. Imagine if we couldn’t read it.

My point is that we often take these simple joys of life for granted. Through your generous donations we can help other adults learn the joy, and necessity, of reading.

Thank you for your support and I’m asking for your generosity one more time before November 17th.

With gratitude.
