IMPORTANT FINANCIAL UPDATE
$10,119
Today I was notified our new contribution total is $10,119! My deepest thanks to those who helped us achieve this mark. Your donations are a force-multiplier by providing people with a most vital tool so they can help themselves.
Everyone on this email distribution has been blessed with opportunities we likely take for granted. There are individuals who, through no fault of their own, are not so blessed. I will not speak for anyone else, but I frequently find myself taking those blessings for granted. Until I lose one of those blessings, I don’t even think about them. They are my normal so to speak.
However, as I begin my eighth decade, there are things that I simply cannot do anymore. Some of them are things I used to say I “had to do” as in “I have to go pick up my kids” or “I have to go for a run”. “Chores” that needed to be done. Funny thing is, once I lost the opportunity or ability to do them, I suddenly realized how much joy they brought me.
My point is, we take for granted our ability to read. Barring some medical issue, we will likely all be able to read. But if the worst occurred, imagine the joy you would lose by NOT being able to read. Now imagine the joy that comes to an adult who now has a chance to read and boundless pleasures that will bring.
We made it to $10,000 benchmark. In keeping with my original commitment, today I began doing TWO Bring Sally Up push-up workouts each day and will continue for the remaining 150 or so days left. I am setting a new financial goal of $15,000. I have a good and generous “friend” who donated to bring us over $10,000. I suspect he did so primarily to help but also to see me suffer. If we make $15,000, I have already committed to doing THREE BSU workouts each day. I know I must have others out there seeking schadenfreude through me.
As I have stated before, three times money is fun – making it, spending it and donating it. Have some fun. You don’t HAVE to do it; you GET to do it.
On the other hand, I GET the opportunity to do TWO BSU workouts each day until November 17th. Anyone want to help make it THREE a day!
With gratitude.
